How to Install Guest Additions on Debian 9 / 10 / 11 in VirtualBox 6

How to Install Guest Additions on Debian 9 / 10 / 11 in VirtualBox 6.0

Step 1: If you have not done a Debian installation with VirtualBox before, please refer to the following video.

Step 2: After installing Debian with VirtualBox, you must install Guest Additions. Thanks to Guest Additions, you can use the virtual machine more efficiently.

Step 3: Run the Debian virtual PC on VirtualBox to install the Guest Additions.

Step 4: After running the Linux virtual machine, click on Devices / Insert Guest Additions CD image.

Step 5: Sometimes, Guest Additions installation starts automatically on Linux-based operating systems. But this does not happen automatically on Debian.

Step 6: Open the Guest Additions CD image folder and open the Terminal in it. Run the command “sh VBoxLinuxAdditions.run” to install Guest Additions on the Debian virtual machine.

sh VBoxLinuxAdditions.run

Step 7: After installing Guest Software on Debian, restart the virtual machine.

Step 8: You can now use the Debian virtual machine more efficiently and make it full-screen.
