How to Import GNS3 VM to Virtual Machine with VMware

With the GNS3 VM, you can create more specific network topologies and store IOS images of devices such as the Cisco Router in one place.

Using VMware virtualization software, you can import the GNS3 VM as a virtual machine.

To import the GNS3 VM in VMware:

Step 1: If you have not previously installed VMware on Windows, you can refer to the video below.

Step 2: After installing VMware, download the GNS3 VM.ova file to your computer by visiting the link below.

Step 3: After downloading the GNS3 VM.ova, extract the zip file to the folder and double-click it to add the OVA file to VMware.

Step 4: In the Import Virtual Machine window, select the location where you want to save the OVA file.

Step 5: After configuring the location, click the Import button to start the process.

Step 6: Wait while importing GNS3 VM.

Step 7: The GNS3 Server machine will start up after completing the import process. Click Network Adapter hardware to configure the virtual machine’s network settings, then delete Network Adapter 2.

Step 8: Configure the Network Adapter as Bridged and Ping the connection from your host to test the connection.
