How to Install Windows 11 on Computer

This guide will walk you through installing Windows 11 on a desktop or laptop with a TPM module for system security.

Microsoft’s latest OS is Windows 11. Installing Windows 11 is easy on new or upgraded PCs. This post will describe each step of installing Windows 11 on a Computer.

Step 1: Check System Requirements

There are specific system requirements for Windows 11, and computers that will not meet these requirements can’t run this operating system. Here are the system requirements that the system can meet:

  • 64-bit processor with two or more cores
  • 4 GB of RAM
  • 64 GB or larger storage device
  • DirectX 12 compatible graphics card or WDDM 2.0 driver
  • UEFI firmware interface and Secure Boot feature

If your PC matches these specifications, you are prepared to install Windows 11. Yet, you cannot install the operating system if your machine does not fulfill these prerequisites. It’s possible that raising your PC’s minimum specs before upgrading is essential in this case.

Step 2: Prepare the Installation Media

Windows 11 may be installed via Windows Update or a USB or DVD. This article describes USB installation media preparation.

Things you need to prepare the installation media:

  • A USB drive with at least 8 GB of capacity
  • Windows 11 ISO file
  • Windows USB/DVD Download Tool or Rufus program

Download the ISO file from Microsoft’s website and copy it to the USB drive using the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool or Rufus program.

Step 3: Restart the Computer

Put in the USB device and restart the machine. A computer’s BIOS or UEFI settings may be accessed by pressing a key at startup. This key may vary depending on the computer brand and model. FOR INSTANCE, the F2 key on Dell computers and the F10 key on HP systems may be required.

After restarting your computer, press the specified key to access the BIOS or UEFI settings. The USB drive should be designated as the primary boot device in the Boot submenu of the system’s BIOS or UEFI settings. Save your settings and restart your computer.

Step 4: Windows 11 Installation

As your computer restarts, the Windows 11 installation screen will appear. Click “Next” after making default selections like language, time zone, and keyboard layout.

A dialog asking you to “Choose the operating system you want to install” will appear at that point. To install Windows exclusively, choose the “Custom” option and proceed to the next step.

The disks installed on your computer will be displayed when you select “Manage disks.”. Choose “New” to begin a brand-new installation, then insert the desired disk. After selecting the appropriate disk size, click the “Apply” button.

The installation of Windows 11 will start when you click the “Install” button. The installation duration will vary based on your computer’s CPU processing speed and available hard drive space.

Your new computer will need some tweaking when the installation is done. To finish the setup procedure, do as instructed.

Following the steps mentioned above to perform the installation is a relatively simple task. But you must follow the instructions precisely and check your eligibility. To learn more about Windows 11’s all features, check out the official Microsoft website.

Microsoft Store is a specially designed application store for Windows 11 where you can find many applications and games. You can also download applications outside of the app stores. However, make sure that these applications are reliable.
