How to Take and Use Snapshot in Oracle VM VirtualBox

This video shows you the steps to take and restore Snapshot for any virtual machine installed on the Oracle VM VirtualBox virtualization program running on Windows 10 operating system.

How to Take and Use Snapshot in Oracle VM VirtualBox

NOTE: On the Oracle VM VirtualBox version 6.0.4, the use of Snapshot is the same!

To get Snapshot on Oracle VM VirtualBox:

Step 1: If you did not install VirtualBox in Windows 10 before, please refer to the video below.

Step 2: After installing VirtualBox, for example, you installed a Windows 10 operating system on a new virtual machine. If you want to back up this virtual machine, you must use the VirtualBox Snapshot feature.

Step 3: Open VirtualBox and select the virtual machine you want to back up. Then click Machine / Take Snapshot from the menu.

Step 4: Write a name and description for the virtual machine backup. Then click OK to continue.

Step 5: Wait for the virtual machine to receive a Snapshot. This may take some time, depending on the performance of your computer.

Step 6: After you made a backup of the Windows 10 VM, you can undo any changes you made on the system with a click.

Step 7: Select the Snapshot you just received and click on the Restore button.

Step 8: Finally, you will see that your Windows 10 virtual machine successfully restored.
